Dr. Sarah sets out on a new adventure to bring vital medicine to the children of a far-away village. Soon after arrival, however, she discovers things are not quite as they should be.

Help Dr. Sarah navigate a maze of caves as she attempts to make her way back to the surface to figure out who or what is tormenting the people of this village.

Features

Language

Build sentences to tell Dr Sarah what she should do. Point and click on words and objects or type your own sentences.

Problem Solving

Collect and use objects to overcome obstacles. Many problems have more than one solution; use your creativity to help Dr Sarah save the village.

Story Telling

The actions you perform in the game create your very own story book. Your story reflects the problems you solved, so everyone’s book is unique. Read the story for yourself or listen to it narrated by Dr Sarah.

Game Play

Dr Sarah and the Village of Mystery is a platforming, puzzle game that uses a point and click interface to build sentences to solve puzzles.

If you want to take it easy you can click on words and objects to tell your story. For those who like a challenge, you have the freedom to type your own sentences to solve the puzzles.

Story Book

By the end of the game, each player will have created their own comic book made up of screenshots and actions taken in the game. Everyone will have their own unique story as actions can be carried out in different orders and secrets can be discovered that other players may not know about.

Family Friendly

Dr Sarah and the Village of Mystery is designed for players aged 8 and up.

It promotes reading, writing and problem solving skills alongside fun platform game mechanics.

It’s the perfect game for parents to play with their children as it encourages collaborative problem solving and discussion. Parents can also read the story they have created with their child after each level

There are no deaths, and no violence. Dr. Sarah uses her skill and intellect to overcome difficulties, not her fists!

Development

Created by Luke Doyle, a teacher with over twenty-five years experience of working in international schools and the founder of a school for underprivileged children in Bangladesh (www.caffebd.org). Inspired by his love of story-telling and adventure games, Dr Sarah and the Village of Mystery aims to be a fun way to promote reading and problem solving skills to children.
